Demon Happening 1/23

The Lamoni Bowling squad traveled to Osceola, Iowa, on Monday to take on several surrounding teams.  The Demons didn't fare well against the competition but scored a team score of 1832, which is about 200 pins above their average.  Even though the team didn’t fare well in scoring, they feel that they are making improvements.

On Tuesday, the bowling team traveled to Red Oak in another multi-team match.  The Demons were short-staffed and could not compete as a team but they had two individuals compete.  On Tuesday, the Demons suited up to face the Iowa Christian Academy Trailblazers.  The girls took care of business, leading the Trailblazers 36-6 at the half.  The Demons came back out with the same spark and intensity to take care of the Trailblazers 58-15.

The boy's team started a little slower than they should have, and it showed as the Demons trailed 31-29 at halftime.  During the break, something sparked inside the Demons and they came out with the same intensity that the girls had in the game before them.  The Demons sent the Trailblazers packing with a 64-50 win.  On Friday, the Lamoni Demons Basketball teams traveled to the AIB campus to battle the Grandview Christian Thunder.  The girls were the first in action.  The girls started the game pumped up and ready to fight, but the Thunder got the quick jump on the Demons and left the Demons trailing 28-11 at the break.  The Demons started to rally back in the 4th quarter but it was a little too late as the Thunder stole the win with the final score of 58-33.

Now the boys were ready to knock off the #4 ranked Thunder (Ranking provided by BC Moore).  The Demons came out of the locker room pumped up and ready to roll the Thunder.  But this game was all Thunder as they went to the locker room leading 61-24.  The Demons made a few adjustments at halftime but it didn't seem to help as the Thunder secured the game with a score of 91-45. The girls currently have an 8-5 overall record and the boys own an 8-4 overall record.  Look for both teams in action during the Bluegrass Conference Tournament.
