Demons Secure Runner-Up Finish at 2026 Bluegrass Conference Meet

The Lamoni Girls Track and Field team delivered a powerhouse performance at the Bluegrass Conference Track Meet on May 5th, finishing as the conference runner-up. In a night defined by grit and school spirit, the team racked up 133 points , narrowly missing the top spot in a fierce battle for the championship. Coaches K and Cougill praised the roster not just for their podium finishes, but for the character displayed throughout the event. State Solo & Small Ensemble Results

Congratulations to Lamoni High School and Middle School musicians for all of the hard work they put into performing at State Solo and Small Ensemble. Lamoni took 7 solos and 2 ensembles to Lenox for the contest. Our students performed their pieces in front of a judge for feedback and ratings. Lamoni received 5 Division I ratings (superior) and 5 Division II ratings (excellent) throughout the event. This is a huge achievement for our students! Walking School Bus - April 22, 2026

In recognition of Earth Day on Wednesday, April 22nd, LCSD will host a Walking School Bus. School buses will run regular routes, but instead of dropping students off directly at school, they will drop off students at the bike trail on the corner of 7th Street and North Clark. From there, students will walk or bike on the bike trail to school together. Any student who wishes to join the Walking School Bus—either walking or riding their bike—should meet us at the corner of 7th and Clark between 7:25–7:30 a.m. . . .

Lamoni FBLA Shines at Record-Breaking State Conference

Earlier this week, seven dedicated students from the Lamoni FBLA chapter traveled to compete in the Iowa FBLA State Leadership Conference. This year’s event was one for the history books, boasting the largest turnout in the organization's history with over 1,200 students from across the state. Despite the stiff competition, Lamoni students proved they belong among the best in Iowa. The chapter brought home several top-ten honors, highlighted by Ava Courtney , who secured a 2nd place finish in Public Administration. . . .

The Lamoni Community School District would like to remind families that the state-mandated deadline for Open Enrollment for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year is fast approaching. What You Need to Know For students entering grades 1 through 12 , the deadline to file an open enrollment application is March 2, 2026 .
