Open Enrollment Deadline for 2026-27 School Year is March 2
The Lamoni Community School District would like to remind families that the state-mandated deadline for Open Enrollment for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year is fast approaching.
What You Need to Know
For students entering grades 1 through 12, the deadline to file an open enrollment application is March 2, 2026. Applications filed after this date may be denied by either the resident or receiving district unless the family can demonstrate "good cause" (such as a change in residence) as defined by Iowa law.
Note: The deadline for students entering Kindergarten remains September 1, 2026.
Application Process
To apply for open enrollment into the Lamoni Community School District, parents or guardians must:

Download the Application: Forms are available via the Iowa Department of Education website or can be picked up at the Lamoni CSD District Office.

Submit to Both Districts: A copy of the application must be sent to both the district you currently live in (the resident district) and the district you wish to attend (Lamoni CSD).

Submit by the Deadline: Ensure all forms are postmarked or hand-delivered by Monday, March 2.
