Demon Boys Run Well at Leon and Moravia

On Tuesday April 9th, the Lamoni Boys HS Track Team traveled to Leon to compete in the Central Decatur Track Meet. The team came in 4th place out of ten teams. Three of the team's athletes finished in first place in their event or events. Ambrose Savage won the discus and shot put events with throws of 144 feet and 43 feet respectively. He also came in first for the 400 meter dash with a time of 53.6 seconds.  Travis Noel continued his excellent freshman campaign by winning the long jump again, with a jump of 18 feet, 9 inches. Landon Lindgren continues to improve at the 110 meter high hurdles and took first place at the meet with a time of 16.6 seconds.

On April 15th, the team competed in the Moravia Meet. They finished 3rd out of nine teams. Once again, Ambrose won the discus and shot put events with throws of 134 feet and 41 feet respectively. Tate McDole won both the 3200 meter and 1600 meter runs with times of 11:15 and 5:18 respectively. Landon Lindgren shaved some more time off his 110 meter high hurdles and won first again with a time of 16.34 seconds.

While only the first place winners were named in the article, track and field is definitely a team sport and the athletes who were mentioned were not the only reason that the team got 4th and 3rd place in the two meets. All of Coach Olson's runners and throwers are competing their hearts out and improving every day. Keep up the outstanding work and way to show great Demon PRIDE!
