On March 11, Heiatua Paredes and Meredith Howell performed at the State Individual Speech Contest at Ames High School. Heiatua received 1 ratings in Expository Address and Original Oratory. Meredith received a 1 rating in Prose and a 2 rating in Storytelling. Heiatua's Expository Address was chosen to advance to the All State Individual Speech Festival at UNI on March 27.

Heiatua Paredes, Admira Katzmann, and Meredith Howell performed at the District Individual Speech contest at Mount Ayr High School on Saturday, February 25. Heiatua will move on to the state contest on March 11 at Ames High School in Expository Address and Original Oratory. Meredith will move on to the state contest in Storytelling and Prose. Admira gets a special shout out because she performed at a dance competition in the morning and at our speech contest in the afternoon.

On Saturday, February 4, the Lamoni High School Group Improv members - part of the LHS Group Speech team - participated at the State Large Group Contest at Waukee High School. The Group Improv members, Paul Eason and Admira Katzmann, received a II rating. Of his experience at the State Large Group Contest, Paul Eason stated: "It was a fun and educational experience. I felt like I bonded with my teammates." Congratulations to the Group Improv for their performance at the State Large Group . . .

Lamoni High School Speech students performed at district large group contest at Clarke High School on Saturday, January 21. Reader's Theater earned a II rating while Group Improv earned a I rating and will perform at state large group contest in Waukee on February 4.
