Demon Happening (5/1)

Welcome back readers! This past week, on Monday, the Demon Golf team played at home against the Wayne Flacons. It was a beautiful day, with the wind being the only factor that played against the Demons. Despite the wind, the Demons came out on top, gaining their first win over Wayne in three matches. Jordan Lester scored a 41, which lead him to victory. Sam Hampton scored a 47, which led him to second place. The Lady Demons Golf Team also competed against the Falcons at home on Monday. Grace Martin scored a 52, which sealed a second place spot for her.

The track team also traveled on Monday and placed third at Moravia. William Greenwood placed first in shot and disc and Steven Ansong placed second in the one hundred. The four by two team and the sprint medley team also scored second. Then, on Tuesday, the boys track team traveled to Mt. Ayr. The boys worked hard, which led to William Greenwood placing second in shot and third in disc.

The girls track team traveled to Osceola and played hard. Daryn Nowlin reached a new personal record on the field events. Jennifer Eason scored 1st in every event she was in except for the 100 meter hurdles. Maham ran a new personal record and was very excited following the meet. The 4x2 shaved a second off their time, and Amarillo placed 4th open 100.

The Demon Golf Team went at it again on Thursday. Jordan Lester worked his magic and received first by scoring a 42. Samuel Hampton scored 44, which lead him to receive second place. Chase scored a 51, earning him third place against I-35. The Demons won against I-35 175 to 267.

Some of the Lamoni art students traveled to Murray for the Bluegrass Conference Art Fair. Lamoni received three gold medals, three silver medals, and plenty of honorable mentions. Cooper Ranney and Alex Burnette also won an award for creating a form of art while at the art fair! Congratulations to all participating artists!
