Lamoni High School Senior Ava Courtney Recognized for Academic Excellence
Launch the media gallery 1 playerLamoni High School senior Ava Courtney has achieved two major academic milestones, earning a composite score of 35 on her ACT and being named a Commended Student in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program.
Ava’s composite score of 35 on the ACT places her in the top fraction of a percent of test-takers nationwide, demonstrating exceptional mastery across English, mathematics, reading, and science.
In addition to her ACT success, Principal Amber Fairbanks announced that Ava has been recognized as a Commended Student by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC®). Ava received a Letter of Commendation in recognition of her outstanding performance on the 2025 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®), placing her among the top 50,000 of more than 1.3 million program entrants nationwide.
Ava’s accomplishments reflect her personal dedication to academic growth and highlight the supportive learning environment provided by the educators at Lamoni Schools.
