It is nice to be back in Lamoni, this is where I went to college.  I did my student teaching with Mrs. McGhee in the room where Mrs. Pitt teaches now! :) I earned my teaching degree from Graceland, then went on to receive my master's degree from Webster University.  I have taught many different grades in my 20 years in education - starting with babies and parents with Parents as Teachers, preschool, kindergarten, first, second, third, and fourth! Sometimes in the summer, I even get to teach teachers with the Pathways to Reading program. :)

When I have free time I love to watch movies, go on walks, and spend time with my family.  I also am a big nerd when it comes to teaching reading, so I love to read books and articles about reading! I am always looking for a new hobby idea but mostly I just collect the supplies for them and don't usually finish my projects... so maybe my hobby is collecting hobby supplies? LOL!

My husband, Jeremy, and I have three children Kiley, Hayden, and Harrison.  We also have two adorable dogs named Marley and Milo. Kiley, our oldest, is a teacher too! Hayden, our middle son, is studying to be an engineer at Iowa State.  Harrison, our youngest, is a senior this year at Lamoni High School!  I will share lots of stories about my family and dogs in class this year! :)

I look forward to teaching you many new things this year and learn many new things from YOU!! Our classroom will be a safe place for all of us to try new things, make mistakes, and grow as learners.  One of my favorite sayings is, "From tiny seeds grow might trees."  That is talking about us!
