María Alejandrina Cummings
Hola, I am María Alejandrina Alberto Ramos de Cummings. I am the Middle and High School Spanish teacher as well as Freshmen English and 8th Grade Lit. I have worked at LHS from the fall of 2007 to the present time. Prior to that I taught at Central Decatur from the spring of 2004 to the spring of 2007. My native language is Spanish. I came from Honduras in 1974 with my parents and seven siblings. I was a student at Lamoni Schools from 4th - 12 grades. I then got married, had two daughters, and lived in many different places with my husband, Gregg, who was an elite soldier in the US Army for 13 years. Upon returning to Lamoni, I worked at our school as a paraprofessional for three years and then was secretary to Magistrate Robert Rolfe. In the fall of 2000 I entered Graceland University and graduated in May of 2004 with a degree in Spanish and English. My love for language and culture can be seen in the lessons I teach, and the excitement I feel in the classroom; you are welcome to visit, anytime.
